The 2010 Nissan 370z engine is finely tuned to bring on full performance that is found with larger engines, compacted into a smaller package and sleeker style. The engine is very powerful comprised of the following specs:
- 3696 cc 3.7 liter V6 front engine
- Bore and stroke of 95.5 x 86.0
- 11:1 compression ratio
- Double overhead cam
- 4 valves on each cylinder(6)
- Iridium dipped sparkplugs
The specs show from face value that the 2010 370z engine was created for optimal performance and speed out of a smaller machine generating a sportiness that is both tempting and thrilling. Comparing it to the 2009 version, the engines are virtually the same, but the overall effect should be enhanced and smoother.
Many are wondering if the sportier version of the 370z, the Nismo, is ahead of its sibling, and some reviews are unfortunately not supporting that idea. The Nismo's engine is built for higher performance with an advancement of 350hp compared to the 370z's 332hp engine; and a greater torque by 4 lb-ft, however the overall maximum speed of the engine is the same putting a lot into a big poof.
The ride of the 370z has been cited as very smooth and the engine very powerful and maximizing full potential, while it's Nismo counterpart is not matching up in performance being cited as a jarring ride with a very noisy interior cabin creating an uncomfortable ride that takes away from the satisfaction dramatically causing an overpriced attempt to better something that was already great.
